Is this a phone replacement?
No. RA4DIO is a second device for when the phone can't do the job — off-grid, low-bandwidth, private. It is meant to live in your other pocket.
Do I need a license?
No. RA4DIO operates on license-free ISM bands (868 MHz EU / 915 MHz US). Region-locked at the firmware level.
What is the real range?
~10 km device-to-device line-of-sight, up to ~15 km to an elevated node, 100–800 m in dense urban environments. We will publish independent field tests before shipping. No magic numbers.
When does it ship?
Q3 2028. The €99 reservation comes off the €899 price and is fully refundable until 14 days after your unit reaches you. It secures your numbered build slot; the balance is charged only when the unit is assembled and tested.
Why €99 now?
Hardware needs commitment to exist. The deposit lets us order silicon, certify the radio, and build the first batch. Founders Edition reservations ship first.
